Music Session led by Hannah & Lauren
Come along and join us for an Open Music Session led by Fort William musicians Hannah MacRae and Lauren Byrne from 8.30pm or thereabouts.
Hannah’s distinguished skill and west coast fiddle style makes her highly sought after in the traditional music scene, and she is now a member of acclaimed Scottish folk band, Hò-Rò. Having played from a very young age, her performance repertoire is extensive and includes the likes of the prestigious BBC Radio Scotland Young Trad Musician competition, local and international festivals and much more.
Lauren grew up around Loch Eil and is a keen advocate for Gaelic language and culture. She has been involved in local Fèisean since youth, went on to earn a degree in Gaelic and Traditional Music and is now helping to develop the Gaelic communities in Lochaber through her work with Comunn na Gàidhlig. Traditional music continues to be a firm passion in her life both professionally and personally.
But don’t let them hog the limelight!
Bring your own particular talent and join in with the tunes, or just simply come along and enjoy some traditional style tunes and maybe a wee dance.
All welcome! Every Friday evening.
