Music Session Led By Calum MacAskill

Come along and join us for an Open Music Session led by traditionally trained multi-instrumentalist Calum MacAskill from 8.30pm or thereabouts.
Calum started playing the chanter at 9 years old at Glenelg Primary School with Niall Stewart and had further lessons with him going into Plockton High School. Calum continued his piping journey at Àrd Sgoil Chiùil Na Gàidhealtachd with the likes of Lorne MacDougall, Dougie Pincock & Iain MacFadyen. As well as Bagpipes Calum also plays Whistle, Guitar, Drum Kit and always liked to think He can sing.
Calum is a former student of Àrd Sgoil Chiùil Na Gàidhealtachd (Plockton Music School) and having the privilege to study there for 2 years gave him such a fantastic grounding and starting point at such a young age for him to really invest in his music career. Calum is currently a HNC graduate at West Highland Collage and is studying HND in Lochaber, Fort William.
It is Calums dream and ambition to be a full-time Scottish Traditional Musician and there’s no doubt that at the moment, as a music student He continuing to learn and improve as a traditional musician.
But don’t let him and his friends hog the limelight!
Bring your own particular talent and join in with the tunes, or just simply come along and enjoy some traditional style tunes and maybe a wee dance.
