Ben Nevis Race

The first Saturday in September sees the annual Ben Nevis Race.
Up to 600 runners set off from the Claggan Park, at the entrance to Glen Nevis to cover the 4409 feet and approximately 5 miles to the summit of Britain’s highest peak – and then turn around and come all the way back again.
The Grog and Gruel has always taken a keen interest in supporting the race. Not only is it a great local event – and a fine one to watch too.
Join us on Saturday evening after the race. As ever, we’ll be serving up plenty of commemorative Ben Nevis Race Ale during the first weekend in September. You don’t have to run the race to try a pint, but we do expect to see many familiar faces back again as they celebrate another year up and down the Ben.
