Live Music with Quiet Houses
Quiet Houses are an alt-folk duo based in Manchester. Their music combines folk songwriting with contemporary production and uplifting string and vocal arrangements. After forming in early 2018 the duo began playing in local pubs and cafes in Manchester, and writing songs influenced by artists such as Laura Marling, The Staves and Bon Iver.
The duo is made up of multi instrumentalist Hannah Elliott (vocals, fiddle, mandolin and keys) and Jamie Stewart (guitar, vocals). The musical influences that the pair gathered whilst growing up continue to inform their songwriting. Hannah grew up singing in choirs and playing in orchestras whilst Jamie was playing Scottish Trad Music on the bagpipes and guitar in rock bands.
The duo began recording in September 2018 with producer and friend Karl Zeigler. Their debut EP ‘Armchair Tree’ is set for release in 2019
